October 12, 2006

Hello all! I hope everyone is doing well. Things are great here. The Target store that I work at finally had their grand opening this past sunday and so my life is finally getting back to normal. Victor and Brandon are doing great and enjoying the extra time they get to spend together.

We went to the pumpkin patch last weekend and had a really good time. Victor is excited about Halloween and his new favorite word is "BOO". He likes going to school once he is there and they really enjoy him.

Crazy Life

Our lives have been kind of crazy around here the last month or so. Then again, when aren't things crazy?

Victor and I just returned home from California where we spent 10 wonderful days with the family. We got there for Bryce's HS graduation, Gareth's farewell party and last talk in sacrament. I was also able to scrapbook for Taryna a few days while still getting my hair chopped and highlighted, a WONDERFUL massage, taking Victor for a check up and getting my nails and feet done. We also went to Corinne's 8th grade promotion and Preston's graduation at UC Irvine where he received his Masters Degree. We also went to Disneyland TWICE! We were very tired after the drive all night to get home, but it was worth it to be home for Father's Day.

We are now just chillin until August when my family will be coming to Utah for 2 weeks. Gareth will arrive on the 28th and I will take him to the MTC. My family is in Europe right now having a great time and I wish that I was with them.

It is really nice to be home, back in my own bed and with Brandon.

Victor's Surgery

Surgery went well for Victor on Wednesday morning. They put tubes in both of his ears (again) and took out his adenoids. He slept the day away (and I with him) and on Thursday was back to his normal self. I have a sinus infection but am on meds and will hopefully get rid of the stupid thing. We had a great time in Pennsylvannia with Gareth and the family for his graduation. Now our next hurdle is him getting off on his mission.

I hope things are well with everyone else.

My Scrapbook Expo Weekend

This was a card organizer that I made. This is something I really need for those who have seen my card collection you will agree.

This is the album I have made for Gareth for his mission. It is really cool inside. There are 8 pages that give you a mission in a nut sell.
Pgs 1-2: Title
Pgs 3-4: CTR - Choosing to go
Pgs 5-6: Called to Serve - Receiving Call
Pgs 7-8: Temple - Taking out endowments
Pgs 9-10: MTC - Reporting to MTC
Pgs 11-16: In mission field - Companions etc.
Pgs 17-18: Return With Honor - Returning Home

This album has 8 pages and is really cool. It only took me 1 hour to make. I bought a bunch of different ones and have already finished 3 more.

Nightmare Night

Last night was Tuesday night and just before midnight Victor's fever hadn't come down below 102. It had been that high for almost 5 hours and the Motrin hadn't helped any. He was also drooling a ton which was really odd. So, we took him to the hospital that is just north of our house. We got there and they did a throat culture thinking he had strep. That test came back negative but there was a ton of yucky stuff at the back so they did an x-ray. That was horrible because Victor didn't want to be kept in one place. It took three of us to hold him down and they had to take three x-rays. When they got the x-rays back they notices a large swelling in the throat which was not normal, especially in kids his age. They were worried about it and put an IV in his arm (he hated that too), gave him some anitbiotics and then called for an ambulance to take us to Primary Children's Hospital. When we got there they noticed that he had actual sores at the back of his throat and sent him for a CT. That wasn't so bad because they had all these things tying him down. That and it was almost 5AM by this time and he was just tired. The CT came back negative for the large swelling needing to be drained. So, after almost 6 hours the diagnosis was hand/foot/mouth disease. Only one part of that however seeing as he doesn't have any sores on his feet or hands. He is on some pain meds and some meds to help with his throat feeling sore. Now, we just wait. We got home around 7AM this morning and are beat. Brandon had called into work and just went in after lunch. He is now at Scouts. Victor didn't sleep too well this morning but finally fell asleep around 11 and slept until almost 6pm. He is now watching TV and has started drooling again so it is almost time for more meds.

Please, keep him in your prayers.

Saturday chores

This past Saturday, we were outside mowing the lawn and cleaning up a bit. Victor was playing in the sprinklers and got soaking wet. Then he decided to jump on the trampoline but didn't like that he was all wet. He then got undressed (I had already taken off his shirt because it was soaked) all the way to his bare body. Then, he just kept jumping. He is such a goofball. We went to the park later that day and was flying a kite and hanging out with some friends. Because of his little wet escapade on Saturday he is now sick.

I have pictures but you can only see them if you ask nicely. :)

Victor's First Pictures

These are two pages that I did today during my Cyber-Crop. He is just such a cute kid I have a million pictures of him. I have had some new ones taken and just got word they are ready. I should have them in a few days. I'll post some after I get them scanned.

Choo Choo

This was taken while we were on the train at the zoo this weekend. He is doing the choo choo move his dad taught him when the train blew its whistle. He really likes trains now.

First Day of Day Care

Victor went to his first day at his new day care today. He just waved goodbye to me and then left. He was happy to see me but still took about 5 minutes before we left. He has a few scrapes on his knees and I can tell he had a great time playing with the kids. He was even hopping like a frog tonight when he was going from the family room to his bedroom. He is just growing up so fast.

Our day at the zoo

We went to the zoo for Victor's 2nd Birthday. He had a blast and doesn't he look too cute with his orange shirt and hat?

Hello All

Hello to everyone. I am going to do this blog so that everyone can check in with us. I am worried that sometimes I forget someone in an email. This is much easier for me. Let me know what you think.

Love,
