Ear surgery yet again

So here is how my day went - the day before Turkey Day:

I woke up at 5am so that I could wake up and get my butt out of the house by 5:30 to get to the hospital by 6am. I also had to start the car to get it warm because it was 26 this morning. We got to the hospital and my son was just too funny. He had on his pj's and "car" slippers and the nurses just started to fawn all over him. Then, about 6:50, they gave him his happy meds. let me tell you that I haven't laughed that hard in a while. It hit him and he started slurring his speech, he couldn't keep any part of his body straight. Finally at 7:15 they took us back to meet with the anesthesist - let me just add that they "wheeled" him down the hallway in a wagon - he thought he was the bomb! I met with the doctors and what not and then went to the waiting room while Victor and his "puppy" went in for surgery. Apparently his stuffed puppy had tubes put in today too. Then they called me to the recovery room about 15 minutes later and he was crying. I held him and within 60 seconds he started asking for his "wagon". He became wide awake and so they took us to another room so they could monitor him for about an hour. Well, he was looking at his chart and decided that he needed to add some stuff and asked for a pen - they brought him his own chart, pen and blank paper. He then started asking me what was wrong and how I felt sick. As they checked all his vitals 3 times, he did it almost by him self each time. He then wanted to walk out of the hospital which was funny because he was still a little loopy. I had to catch him a few times. He then made me take him to Starbucks (yes, my 3 yr old makes me do things when he is in pain) to get him a chocolate milk with whip cream and red sprinkles. The lady at Starbucks is usually there when we go, so she made him a very special drink and gave him a penguin cookie. By the time I dropped him off at my friends to watch him, he was a normal kid except for the bloody/pussy mess draining from his ear. I tell ya, that kid will be the death of me. So now he wants me to buy him cool dr. clothes.

If you don't be careful you might have a med student on your hands! lol! Plus, you should get him the double chocolate chip... something... at Starbucks... it's SO good! I think he'd like it... and ask for extra chocolate chips!

Anyway, you have officially been tagged... check out my page to see what you need to do next ;)
